It sounds like LA Mayor Garcetti is resigned to the city getting the Olympics in 2028. In an interview with Buzzfeed, Garcetti said that 2024 for LA "is not probably most likely to happen."
Los Angeles and Paris have both been competing for the 2024 Summer Olympics, however, Paris has emerged as the odds-on favorite for 2024.
LA's time will come in 2028, Garcetti said, “financially so attractive, we’d be stupid not to take 2028.” Paris' leaders have consistently said they are only interested in hosting the 2024 event, while LA 2024 leaders have struck a conciliatory tone toward hosting the 2028 games.
