Sesame Street is introducing a new character named Julia. She's young girl with orange hair, a love for her toy rabbit and she has autism.
Julia is currently part of Sesame Street digital and printed storybooks. She will make her TV debut in April where you'll see her often. He first episode will explore what autism looks like. For example, when she first meets Big Bird she ignores him and continues what she's doing because "sometimes it just takes her a little longer to do things," they explain.

Kari Steele earned her Broadcast Journalism degree from Cal State Long Beach and began her radio career as a news director at a small station on the island of Kauai. She quickly fell in love with the islands and stayed there for ten years co-hosting and eventually hosting her own morning show on Oahu. Kari decided it was time to return home to Los Angeles to raise her boys and work in the radio market she grew up listening to!
She is a sports fanatic, loves to spend her Sundays relaxing and catching up on all the past week's TV shows, going to concerts, and seeing live theatre.
Kari is a huge Angels baseball fan and frequently goes to games to represent her favorite team! In addition to going to baseball games, the beach and family time are on her list of favorite things to do.
