Apple Is Selling An 'Affordable' iPad for Teachers

Apple has just unveiled a new 9.7 inch iPad that is targeted toward teachers and students. It even comes with an Apple Pencil to use on the screen!

This new iPad starts at $329 for the general public, but according to The Verge it will be lowered to $299 for schools. Check out a video of it below!

This new Apple Pencil is optional with purchase and will cost $99 for the average consumer, but just $89 for schools.

Although Apple had previously released an Apple pencil stylus in 2015, it only worked on the most expensive iPad. Apple is aware that there are over 200,000 apps made for education, and this cheaper route is perfect for both teachers and students!

Apple also unveiled a new app called Schoolwork which allows teachers to assign homework digitally from their iPad. They can even see how far along students are on the assignment. This app will launch in June.

The new iPad and Apple Pencil are available in Apple stores today in silver, space gray, and gold.
