Last month Ellen K had the honor of hosting Keanu Reeves' handprint ceremony at The Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA. Coming straight off the heels of “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum,” the world cannot seem to get enough of Mr. Matrix himself. This year we've seen fun cameos in “Toy Story 4” and the adorable slow walk in the Netflix rom-com “Always Be My Maybe.” Has Keanu become our internet boyfriend? After 30 years on screen there is no love lost. Actually there seems to be a resurgence. Fun fact - did you know the name Keanu translates to “cool breeze over the mountains.” Sounds about right.
During Ellen and Keanu's meet, she had an unusual photo experience. Reeves is apparently known for not touching others when he takes a photo.
"I'd never taken a photo with him before, but it was a quick hover hand and then gone!"
The KTLA anchors pondered if maybe this is a way for notable people to stay clear of any inappropriate touching.
"It was very unusual, because then he breaks away real fast after the photo and I thought, 'did I do something wrong?'"
Many people have said however, that Keanu is one of the nicest people they have ever met and Ellen had to agree.
"He was getting his hands in the cement at The Chinese Theater...when he gave his acceptance speech it was so heartfelt and beautiful that people were in tears."
