Raccoon Got Stuck Inside Vending Machine While Stealing Snacks

In Deltona, FL, law enforcement reported that a raccoon got itself stuck in a vending machine while trying to steal some snacks! There is even adorable photos that were taken to use as evidence. Well, this is one way to get caught red handed in the middle of a crime!

On Wednesday (8/14/19), the Volusia County Sheriff's department shared the photos of the culprit on Facebook and captioned it "This gentleman was apprehended today while committing a burglary of a vending machine at Pine Ridge High School."

We all know stealing is illegal and wrong, but look at this poor little critter! He looks like he feels so bad. I didn't know that a raccoon could give puppy eyes until now. Please don't handcuff him, officers!

Obviously, the internet is loving this story and it went viral so fast. People are having a field day about this and are leaving comments like "If I were him I'd snatch as many of those Rice Crispy bars as his little paws could carry and leave those granola bars in the dust!!" Another user wrote "Nothing going on here. Nothing to see. Just move along please." My favorite comment of all was "How could they identify him wearing a mask?" Haha! How clever! That person makes a very good point.

If you're worried about the snack stealer's safety, he's all good! Deputy Danny Clifton called in Deltona Animal Control and they helped free him. The post also reported "They put this vending machine on a dolly and wheeled it out to an area where our friend could make his exit to freedom. He did so with a little encouragement, and he's off to his next adventure."

We can't blame the cute raccoon for trying!
