CDC Released Guidelines For Bars & Restaurants That Are Reopening

Some state restrictions on non-essential businesses are starting to lift, which means restaurants and bars can reopen.

The CDC released guidelines outlining what actions should be in place to help businesses determine whether or not they're ready to reopen and how to do it safely.

The guidelines are in an easy to follow one-page flowchart. It lists health and safety precautions, like the employees need to wear masks and wash hands frequently, and increased sanitation efforts and employee training. It's also important that businesses practice social distancing. That can include but not be limited to limiting occupancy, spacing out tables, staggering employee shifts, and/or encouraging drive-through, curbside pickup, or delivery.

Restaurants and bars that want to reopen also have to monitor their employee's health conditions and have daily symptoms check procedures in place.

In addition to all of the precautions, the newly released guideline emphasize that businesses need to “check with state and local health officials and other partners to determine the most appropriate actions while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community.”
