On Thanksgiving Day this year, for the first time in over 30 years, Walmart will be closed.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, retailers are rethinking their plans for holiday shopping to prevent COVID-19 and eliminate concerns over the crowds in stores. Walmart has remained opened on the holiday since the late 1980's. According to the CEO of Walmart, John Furner, he stated "We know this has been a trying year, and our associates have stepped up. We hope they will enjoy a special Thanksgiving Day at home with their loved ones."
