Winston the Dachshund might be small, but he sure is mighty!
He wasn't going to let a big cat stand in the way of his bond with his best canine friend, Mijo, a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix.
In Evergreen, Colorado, Winston stepped in and saved his furry friend from a mountain lion attack.
Both dogs slipped out of the house through an open door and shortly after a young mountain lion pounced on 15-year-old Mijo.
The mountain lion grabbed the dog in its jaws and instead of running away, Winston barked and charged at the mountain lion until it dropped Mijo and left. What a brave little guy!
Mijo's owner, Lindsay Golden, rushed Mijo to an emergency animal hospital. He suffered several injuries from, lost his right eye, and is also potentially experiencing some neurological issues that require more testing and treatment.
