Disneyland located in California and Walt Disney World in Florida are both making changes to their Jungle Cruise attractions due to the negative depictions of native peoples found throughout the attraction.

According to a statement from Disney, they stated "Imagineers are constantly looking for opportunities to enhance experiences, and when it comes to updating classic attractions, they employ a very careful and thoughtful approach. In this particular case, Imagineers created a storyline that builds upon what people love the most while addressing negative depictions simultaneously."

Some of the cultural insensitive features found throughout the cruise include natives being depicted as tourist attractions or having them shown as violent. In the new attraction, they will have more diverse tourists portrayed as well as the animation of the skipper instead of a live Disney tour guide acting in that specific role.
