During the peak of the pandemic, alcoholic drinks that were ordered with a to-go meal were allowed and will continue to be allowed as state restrictions are eased according to Gov. Gavin Newsom.
According to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, back in March 2020, they temporarily eased the ban on to-go alcoholic drinks as many restaurants had to shut down for in-person dining at the start of the pandemic. Newsom also stated that if you do takeout food after the state restrictions are lifted on June 15th, you'll be able to get the takeout cocktails. This will not apply to bars that don't sell food.
