Here's Why Chipotle Will Be Increasing Prices

The next time you go to order a burrito bowl, you may notice a rise in prices.

Chipotle said that they would raise hourly wages for their restaurant workers to reach an average of $15 an hour by the end of June. Now, they raised their menu prices by 4% to cover the cost of raising its workers wages.

According to Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol, he stated "It made sense in this scenario to invest in our employees and get these restaurants staffed and make sure that we have the pipeline of people to support our growth. And then with that, we've taken some pricing to cover some of that investment." 

These increased wages come ahead of the company's peak season.
