Amazon is reportedly planning to open department stores according to The Wall Street Journal.
Some of the first department stores are expected to be in California and Ohio. The locations will take up 30,000 square feet around the size of a Khol's or T.J. Maxx. In recent years, the company bought Whole Foods Market and has opened brick-and-mortar book stores along with Amazon branded grocery stores and cashierless convenience stores.
These new department stores are expected to help Amazon sell more clothing and technology products.
Do you think this is a good idea?
