I'm not gonna lie- I am STILL in disbelief that this incredible opportunity happened!
A few days ago, I flew to Las Vegas to interview Jay Leno before his show at the Wynn that night. With me was one of my dearest friends- Darlene Rodrigo, also known as "Social Queen Darlene" from the Ellen K Morning Show on KOST 103.5. From the second we stepped into Blue Wire Studios (filming/podcast studio inside the Wynn) I felt like we were in a MOVIE!!! It was absolutely immaculate.
Jay was performing later that night at the Encore Theater, also inside the Wynn. What's hilarious is that this is first time I've ever met him, even though we're both stand-up comedians and I perform at his home club often! (Comedy and Magic Club in Hermosa Beach.) In this interview, we discussed: if comedy is harder now compared to years ago....cancel culture, and the "6-9 second rule" he swears by. I asked him about his recovery from his accident, and what it was like in the hyperbaric chamber. I also attempted to ask him about cars (big fail on my part as I know NOTHING) and of course, what he thinks of BUFFETS! (Something I know too much about.) He also mentioned why he chooses to never do a Netflix special.
