On December 2021, Paul proposed to Sophie at a restaurant in Wetherby, where they had their first date. Little did the groom know he would be serenaded by his soon-be wife at their wedding only three years later.

For her wedding, this bride serenaded her husband with a sweet song as she walked down the aisle to him.

Sophie Hammill married her partner, Paul, in a beautiful ceremony held at The Engine Shed in Wetherby in July.

This occasion was only complete with a musical number performed by the bride herself.

In a white lace gown and chiffon veil, while clutching onto a bouquet of pink and white roses, Sophie had an unusual traditional ensemble: a white headset complete with a microphone.

Guests were in shock when they realized the opening line to Shania Twain's 1997 song "You're Still The One Is" was being performed by the bride in real time.

Belting out the entire ballad with impressive control, Sophie locks eyes on her now-husband as she croons the lyrics: 'Looks like we made it, look how far we've come, my baby.'

Paul was seemingly beaming with pride and overwhelmed with emotion. Tears filled his eyes as his bride serenaded him.

When she arrived at the altar, Sophie handed her bouquet to the minister and embraced her husband while finishing the song.

Sophie, an ambulance practitioner and student paramedic, has since said she was 'very nervous' in the run-up to the special moment, but it luckily went well, as she managed to get through the song 'without any tears.'
She explained: 'A few months before the wedding, I decided to give it a go. Only my maid of honor, bridesmaids, and mum knew about it - no one else did.'
'I wanted it to be a surprise for Paul. I was worried at first that he'd find it awkward, but he really loved it. He felt quite emotional - I think he was trying not to cry in front of all his friends.'

Paul admitted that he 'struggled to contain his emotions' when he realized his wife was singing.

He added: 'I was blown away - she did an absolutely amazing job organizing our big day. This was just the icing on the cake!'

Both agree that the surprise performance made their wedding day even more special.

Speaking about her confidence as a performer, Sophie admits she doesn't 'have the time' to sing professionally, adding: 'I'm not really a singer to tell you the truth.'
'But I've always enjoyed singing since I was little and love singing in the shower or while I'm driving.'
She continued, 'I was very nervous before I started performing, but with all the stress and buildup before the wedding day, I also just felt so relieved and happy to get to the day.
'My little girl, Amaya, was singing along as I performed, and I think all my children were very surprised.'

Many comments poured in from moved viewers, who congratulated the couple and shared their own sentiments about the bride's romantic gesture.

One person wrote: 'The most beautiful wedding entrance I've ever seen and heard. Your voice is truly beautiful,' while another said, 'Of all the videos I've seen of brides singing while walking down the aisle, this is by far the best one.'
A third viewer added: 'The way he looks at you. Pure love, congratulations,' while another joked, 'Awww perfect, my husband would run away if I tried this.'

Also, this bride was able to help her sister's boyfriend propose to her sister. It was a heartwarming proposal, too.
