Dear Listeners of the Ellen K Morning Show,
Today, we shared an update to a story that touches the heart and inspires the spirit. Our dear listener, Sophia, called in on a "Thank You Tuesday" with a message of gratitude and hope.
Sophia has been navigating the challenging journey of cancer treatment. It’s a path marked by uncertainty, but also by profound community support. Through the generosity of blood donors and her employer, City of Hope agreed to donate 4 paid time off hours for every person that donated blood. This would allow her to continue cancer treatments without the burden of having to worry about her paid time off.
Her voice, filled with emotion and strength, was not just to express her thanks, but to ignite a flame of action. Sophia’s experience is a testament to the impact that each pint of donated blood can have. It’s more than just blood; it’s a beacon of hope for those needing lifesaving care.
This triggered another listener named Suzanne to call and share that she heard Sophia's message and it filled her with hope. Suzanne is also continuing to fight with courage and dignity, she hopes more people will continue to encourage this life-affirming chain. By donating blood, you’re not just giving a part of yourself; you’re giving someone like Sophia and Suzanne the gift of time, the chance for more laughter, more moments, and more memories.
Let’s come together and show the world the power of HOPE.
Every drop counts.
