Sometimes a dog is known as a man's best friend but in this case a whale is known as this golden retriever's best friend. A boat captain lost three boats in the 2023 Lahaina wildfire and recently rebuilt her wale-watching tour business. Chrissy Lovitt in Hawaii posted iPhone footage of her dog barking with excitement at a humpback near the boat. The whale popped its head out as the two animals interacted. Lovitt and Macy were in a fishing boat about two miles off the coast of Lahaina when they saw the whale. She said she heard Macy barking and the next thing she knew the whale swam over to greet her. Macy has grown up on the boat with Lovitt for the past 25 years. Lovitt just started her whale-watching business right before the fires happened. She helped the U.S. Coast Guard rescue people who had to jump in the water to escape the flames. Now she saves seats on her new tour for people who been affected by the tragedy in hopes to help them heal. Here's the video of the humpback and Macy!
