An Ohio dad became the leader of a new project consisting of handwritten letters sent to strangers. Rosie Paulik said in fourth grade her dad began writing letters for her and has received numerous ever since. She thinks she has over 3,500 letters from her dad, Buz Ecker. From summer camp to college, Paulik would get handwritten notes every day. In July, she noticed her father didn't seem to be himself so she began to wonder if strangers would enjoy reading personal letters from him. Paulik posted a TikTok pitching the idea and she immediately gained over a 1,000 requests for letters. Then, the Dad Letter Project was created. The father-daughter duo added three more dad's to the team to help fulfill everyone's requests. Each ask is different; some people need to hear from a fatherly figure, others just want to have a good laugh. The two are looking to continue the project past summer and even creating a similar system but from mothers.
