The recent disappearance of a penguin from a German zoo has lead to suspicions of the bird actually being stolen.
According to a Facebook post from the Mannheim Police last Monday, the Luisenpark Zoo is asking for any information regarding their missing bird. Zookeepers realized the bird’s disappearance between 8am and 3pm, which fuels their theory that their Humboldt penguin had been stolen.
On an even more serious note, the cops were notified that the penguin was surviving on special living conditions and a moderated diet. However since the bird’s wing was tagged with an identification number, it might be easier to find and less likely for the penguin to be sold.
