Animal Adventure Park's pregnant giraffe April is Americans' newest obsession. The zoo's livestream of the giraffe awaiting it's newborn calf caught the eye of many, but it's also made Erin Dietrich of South Carolina a crazy super fan.
Dietrich herself is expecting as well and found herself heavily empathizing with April the giraffe.
She said,“I can’t sleep at night. I have pregnancy insomnia, so I’ve become obsessed with this April giraffe. It’s the most ridiculous thing. I’m 39 weeks pregnant with our fourth child. My husband thinks it’s so ridiculous how obsessed I am, so on Friday he said we should get a giraffe mask for when I go into labor."
To put her obsession into perspective, Erin ordered a giraffe head online and recreated the livestream as April the giraffe. The mom of three and soon-to-be four was shown prancing and dancing around the room, doing jumping jacks here and there and strutting her stuff. The video soon blew up online, receiving over 8 million views in one day.
