Dog Food Recalled Over Drug Contamination

Evanger's is widening the recall on it's canned dog food over growing concerns about contamination. There were traces of euthanasia drug, pentobarbital, found in some of its products.

The recall includes the 12 ounce cans of Braised Beef Chunks and Against the Grain’s Pulled Beef with the bar codes 20107 and 80001, according to the FDA.

The company's president, Holly Sher, took to the company's YouTube page to address the voluntary recall. "In spite of this voluntary, expanded recall, our entire Evanger's family remains very optimistic for our strong future and serving our customers to the very best of our abilities," said Sher.

The recall is not based on upon any test results or pet illnesses. Evanger's decided to issue the recall because of the lost trust in its former supplier.
