Mother Who Abandoned Child in Supermarket Now Identified

Police in Riverside, CA have recently discovered who the child-abandoning mother in Food 4 Less was. The woman is said to be 31-year-old Chiengkham Vilaysane and has not been arrested yet.

Security camera footage inside this Food 4 Less store shows Vilaysane entering the store with her child and letting the kid roam around. Another woman in the store found Vilaysane's kid and brought her back to her mom. However, Vilaysane told the woman to "just leave her". She is later seen paying for her groceries and leaving without the child.

Many of the other shoppers in the store were left in shock and disbelief after hearing the news. Chiengkhan Vilaysane is facing felony charges for child endangerment.

Alan Engle, a single father of three daughters, came to the Food 4 Less with a teddy bear to give to police for the little girl. He said, ""I just can't imagine somebody dropping their kid off and not coming back for them. It makes me sick."

Anyone with any further information regarding this case is urged to call Detective Paul Miranda at (951) 353-7945.
