94-Year-Old Woman Celebrates 44 Years of Working at McDonalds

94-year-old Loraine Maurer started working at McDonalds in 1973 right after her husband retired from disability. Today, all of her co-workers threw a celebration for Loraine at their McDonalds location in Evansville, Indiana. Even the owners, Chip and Katie Kentworthy, joined in the festivities.

Owner Katie Kentworthy said, ""Loraine has quite a following. That's to say the least, really. She has lots of very loyal costumers who come especially to our restaurant to see her." In addition to the party, Katie Kentworthy invited Loraine to church along with family and friends.

Loraine says that the relationships she's made wither her customers helped her cope with her hard times. She reported, "They were my live savers when I lost my husband. The customers helped." Loraine admits that she contemplates retiring every winter, but she just can't give up her shift. She continued, "I would miss it too much. I don't want to get depressed and it's not that I don't look forward to going to work. ... It's not a job. I really and truly enjoy it. Life is what you make it. And so I'm trying."
