Delta Airlines Buys Pizza for Passengers with Delayed Flights

After delaying over 300 flights last Wednesday, Delta Airlines wanted to make it up to their passengers by buying them pizza. The flights were delayed due to weathering storms in the South.

Delta reported buying over 700 boxes of pizza for customers who were affected by the delays. These customers either had delayed or cancelled flights to airports in Georgia, Ohio, Kentucky, Louisiana and other regions of the United states.

Some passengers posted pictures to Twitter of pizza being passed out on planes.

"We empower our agents and airport station leaders to find ways to take care of our customers when irregular operations disrupt travel," Delta spokesperson Michael Thomas says.

In Nashville alone, Delta bought over 160 pizzas and 60 footlong subs for the displaced passengers. Delta, which is based in Atlanta, said it also provided games, coloring books and other items to "keep younger travelers entertained while they waited for storms to clear."
