Student Makes Her Own Dating Application for Potential Suitors

Fed up with Tinder? Why not make your own dating application?

This Minnesota college student did. Taylor Sele, a junior at Minnesota State University Moorhead, has taken this business-like approach to weeding out her potential suitors. Sele says, "I was bored one night and thought, dang, I should make a boyfriend application."

The application consists of a 3-page dating questionnaire that includes questions like "Do you smoke?", "What’s your favorite tv show?", and "What's your favorite ice cream?" The questionnaire also asks much deeper questions as well. Some examples includes asking about their thoughts on gay marriage and who they voted for in the most recent election?

Sele does have some hard limits, though. She says, "If they don’t like dogs or choose the wrong ice cream—vanilla is a potential deal breaker."

She's handed out her 3-page love application to potential mates and says that they can reach out to her via Instagram for an application as well. Some of the responses from those who've received the application are not very positive. "Quite a few guys thought it was weird and a lot of them thought I was crazy," she said.

One student, Abdu Frederickson, sided with Sele and said he didn't mind filling out the questionnaire. "You get to know someone a little better before going out and have things to talk about right away," he explained.
