The ALS Association Golden West Chapter

Please join Mark Wallengren this Sunday as he sits down with Fred Fisher, President & CEO of the ALS Association Golden West Chapter, along with Joy Aronson and Richard Caitlin of the Los Angeles County Walk to Defeat ALS.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which causes progressive muscle weakness. Every day 15 people are diagnosed with ALS and as of now, there is no cure.

The ALS Association Golden West Chapter mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest. Their vision is to create a world without ALS.

For more information about ALS and how you can help, please visit their website at alsagoldenwest.org and on all social media platforms at @alsagoldenwest.

The 15th Annual Los Angeles County Walk to Defeat ALS® will be held on Sunday October 15, 2017 at 700 Exposition Park Drive at Exposition Park in Los Angeles CA.

The event is open to the public, and all funds raised support the mission-critical priorities of The ALS Association Golden West Chapter in Care Services, Public Policy, and Research. Since its inception in 2002, the LA Walk to Defeat ALS has cumulatively raised over $5 Million. This year’s goal is to raise $600,000 to advance the search for effective treatments and a cure for ALS and to serve the diverse, urgent needs of the ALS community in Los Angeles County.
