Starting today, gas prices in California are going up by 12 cents due to a new state tax.
All the revenue will go to road programs, public transit and traffic congestion projects. This isn't the end of it, the gas tax is just the beginning of some cost increases but not till 2018.
The revenue of the gas increase will equal up to $52 billion over the next decade.
Diesel gas is also expected to increase by 16-cent a gallon.
