Study Says Prisoners Are Outside More Than Kids

The average prisoner in prison spends about two hours outside every day, shockingly the average child spends less than half the time outside!

TreeHugger.com surveyed over 12,000 parents in 10 countries, and discovered one-third of children between the ages of 5 and 12 spend less than 30 minutes outside every day. Another study published in the Guardian found that one in nine kids had not been to a park, forest, beach or any other natural environment for at least a year.

With the decline in outdoor activity among children, this creates worrisome for health and weight issues, but a lack of free play outdoors creates a generation with a lack of social skills and imagination.
