Former Today Show co-anchor Ann Curry broke her silence about what she thinks of former colleague Matt Lauer's sexual allegations and reveals she's, "not surprised."
"I can tell you that I'm not surprised by the allegations. That means that, you know I'm walking down that road I'm trying not to hurt people. I know what it's like to be publicly humiliated, I never did anything wrong to be publicly humiliated, and I don't want to cause that pain to someone else." She added, "But I can say...I would be surprised if many people, or women, did not understand that there was a climate of verbal harassment that existed. I think it would be surprising if someone said they didn't see that," Curry revealed CBS This Morning, Curry -- who co-anchored the Today show with Lauer from 2011 to 2012 -- says there was a "climate of verbal harassment" at NBC when she was there. Curry was known to have had a rocky relationship with Lauer while at NBC and it's been widely speculated that he ordered her firing.
Curry also says the revelations of abuse in the media industry has been long overdue and the abuse of power within the workplace is a serious issue.
