L.A. Is Being Considered For Amazon Headquarters

Amazon.com Inc just announced that Los Angeles and 19 other locations are finalists for their $5-billon second headquarters that they plan on building.

L.A. is the only finalist west of the Rocky Mountains.

The list was narrowed down from 238 proposals across the United States.

If you're curious as to what the other options are, the list includes: Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Chicago; Dallas; Denver; Indianapolis; Los Angeles; Miami; New York; Philadelphia; Toronto; Washington; Pittsburgh; Raleigh, N.C.; Nashville; Newark, N.J.; and Columbus, Ohio. It also listed northern Virginia and Maryland’s Montgomery County — both near Washington, D.C.

Recently, Los Angeles has suffered in the last two decades because of the area's high business taxes and housing costs.

It's believed that L.A. would be the perfect place for a company like Amazon to find talented workers, and an environment that nurtures growth and innovation.
