Following in the footsteps of rocker Elton John, Paul Simone of iconic duo Simon and Garfunkel, has announced he will retire from touring by the end of this year.
Simone wrote a letter on Twitter, noting the passing of his dear friend and lead guitarist, along with wanting to be closer to his family, were the reason for his retirement. Like Elton, the 76-year-old singer says although he will be done with touring, this doesn't mean he's done performing just yet. "I anticipate doing the occasional performance in a (hopefully) acoustically pristine hall," Simone wrote.
His North American leg of his Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour starts on May 16th in Vancouver and wraps up on June 20th in Nashville. Tickets for the North American leg go on sale Friday.
