Mirai Nagasu First American Woman To Nail Triple Axel At Olympics

Figure skater Mirai Nagasu made history yesterday when she landed a triple axel at the Winter Olympics, the first American woman to ever do so.

Hailing from Arcadia, California, the 24-year-old skated is only the third overall woman to complete the triple axel routine. Nagasu was rewarded with a score of 137.53, the season's best. Due to her amazing routine, the U.S. walked away with the bronze mdeal for the figure skating event.
