Forty-year-old Chad Olds is an animal control officer in Vance County, North Carolina and a retired musician.
One day Olds brought in his guitar and began to sing to all the dogs in the shelter, once he did, something amazing happened. As he began to sing, the dogs who were just barking and being very rowdy, all became calm immediately. Previous research has proved music helps relax shelter animals, which is typically a stressful and loud environment.
The video has now encouraged other shelters to play music for their pets. W
