Starting April 2nd, the "execution fee" for a passport will increase by $10, going from $25 to $35. However, the fee increase will not apply to passport renewals done by mail.
In an announcement made on state.gov, "Passport execution involves the submission of a passport application in person to a passport acceptance agent for identity verification and document review."
The $35 fee will apply to all applying or renewing their passport, including children under 16 years old. . This price only covers securing a passport, more info on passport prices can be found here.
