Massive Storm Headed for Southern California

Watch out — rain is coming to Southern California! While it's set to start today, Fox LA says that there will be flash floods beginning on Wednesday.

If you're in the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains, the San Gabriel, San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hills or Orange County, you will be on flood watch.

Late Wednesday evening through Thursday night may lead to rainfall of up to three-quarters of an inch or higher.

If you live near recent burn areas, you'll need to be on an even higher alert. Dangerous mud and debris flow may be possible.

"Southern California residents, in or below the recently burned areas are urged to take the steps necessary to protect their property. Persons in the watch area should remain alert and follow directions of emergency preparedness officials,'' said the National Weather Service.

Coastal and valley areas can expect 2 to 5 inches of total rainfall, and foothills and coastal slopes can expect 5 to 10 inches.

Give yourself some extra time on the freeway, it's sure to get a little crazy out there!
