Please join Mark Wallengren this Sunday as he sits down with Asher Garfinkel, the Vice President of Community Outreach for The ALS Association, along with Niall Foley, person living with ALS, and founder SoCal Ride to Defeat ALS.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a fatal neurodegenerative disorder that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which causes progressive muscle weakness. Every day 15 people are diagnosed with ALS and as of now, there is no cure.
The ALS Association Golden West Chapter mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS, and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest.
Their Vision is to create a world without ALS. The ALS Association Golden West Chapter serves people with ALS and their families in 31 counties throughout California and the state of Hawaii.
The Golden West Chapter provides care services for people with ALS and their families, funds global cutting-edge research, and advances important public policy initiatives. Everything we do advances the search for effective treatments and a cure for ALS.
