At Home Spa Hacks

Ever wondered if you could create you own mini spa at home? Well, you can, and most of the ingredients needed are already in your pantry!

Chilled Green Tea Bags for Tired Eyes

If you're looking for a way to quickly soothe tired, puffy eyes steep two tea bags in boiling water for 5 minutes then pop the bags in the freezer for 10 minutes. While you're waiting for the tea bags to become cold enough, enjoy the fresh pot of tea that you have just brewed. Once they're cold, lay back and place the bags over your eyes letting them sit for 15 minutes before removing. The caffeination and cold compress combines to help shrink blood vessel which helps in reducing dark circles and puffiness.

Coffee Grounds and Coconut Oil for Soft Skin

The caffeine from the coffee will help brighten the skin while the roughness from the grounds will deeply exfoliate. Coconut oil acts to bind the grounds for easy application and adds a deeply nourishing hydration that lasts long after your shower.

Two parts melted coconut oil to one part coffee grounds. Mix these two parts together until the coffee grounds are completely coated. Store in an airtight jar and keep in the shower. Since this isn't a sugar and water or sugar and oil base, the mixture should keep for at least a month.  It is recommended to use 2-3 times a week as to not irritate the skin from over-exfoliation.

Hydrating Face Mask

This face mask is gentle and hydrating to make a refreshing mid-week mask. Mix up one quarter of an avocado in a small bowl, add in one tablespoon of cocoa powder, and one tablespoon of honey. Make sure the ingredients are fully combined before applying to clean skin. Leave on for 10 minutes before washing of with warm water. Moisturize your skin after and enjoy your silky soft complexion. It is recommended to use this mask at night so your skin has time to absorb the healthy fats and hydration from the avocado honey mixture.
