Mandy Moore is known for giving us the sads on NBC's This Is Us, but the Hollywood star offered up some real emotions on Tuesday (August 28) when she remembered her late ex-boyfriend Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein.
On the nine-year anniversary of his untimely death, the 34-year-old star took to Instagram to share a photo of Goldstein on a couch. "9 years. I miss you every day, Adam," she wrote alongside the hashtag #djam." Moore and Goldstein had plenty of history before the pair started dating in early 2007 after reconnecting at a New Year's Eve party in Miami. "It's really new. They’re in the beginning stages of getting to know each other. They're very into each other. It's very sweet," a source told PEOPLE at the time. While they broke up two months later in March 2007, the split was reportedly "mutual" and transitioned them back into a friendship. Moore even visited him at the Joseph Still Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia after he survived that plane crash alongside Travis Barker, which killed four other people.
Goldstein was found dead in his New York City apartment on August 28, 2009. As per CNN, he died of a drug overdose. Prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, including a crack pipe, were found nearby, which foreshadowed the accidental overdose of cocaine, oxycodone, Vicodin, Ativan and several other drugs. He was 36.
