Celebrity Reactions To The Latest Mass Shooting In Thousand Oaks

Waking up to the terrible news of this mass shooting that happened right in our backyard, is weighing extremely heavy on our hearts this morning, as well as in the hearts of celebrities. Last night's shooting happened in Thousand Oaks at Borderline Bar & Grill on Rolling Oaks Drive. We'll continue to share any new information as we get it from our news station, KFI AM640. Here's what we know right now: 

  • 13 people dead-- including the gunman after he opened fire around 11:30pm.
  • Another 15 were shot and injured inside. It took police less than 3 minutes to arrive. 
  • Among the lives lost are Sergeant Ron Helus, a 29-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. He was set to retire in the next few months. He was the first officer to enter the room. 
  • Last night ws college night at Borderline - a large group of Pepperdine students were inside the country-themed bar. Multiple witnesses say the shooter walked in, threw several smoke bombs and immediately opened fire. The shooter has been identified as 28-year old, David Ian Long of Newbury Park, CA who was a former Marine who used his mom's car to drive to the bar.
