Camila Cabello Says She's Taking A Break Before Her 'Next Era'

Camila Cabello is ready to turn off her pop star mode and enjoy life, as per a new tweet from the star.

Earlier this week, the former Fifth Harmony bandmate got real about her agenda in the coming months, admitting that it's time to kick her feet up. "taking my first real break in 6 years - gonna get some rest and inspiration for the next era, I CAN'T WAIT," she told her 7.6 million followers on Twitter. Cabello's final tour date of the year was at our very own Jingle Ball show in Chicago the evening beforehand. To top things off, she was also nominated earlier in the week for two Grammy categories for "Havana" (Live) and Camila.

Fans have been aware that Cabello was nearing a break when she announced the release of "Consequences (Orchestra)," which she live-debuted at the 2018 American Music Awards in October. "It's going to be the song I choose as my last single from my album- a lot of people say ballads like this are 'risky' and with every single I've picked I get looks like I have three heads, because people always want you to go with a song that sounds like something that's already on the radio," she wrote on Instagram. "It would be playing it safe for me to make a song that sounds like Havana or another uptempo song, but to me, my goal is to challenge myself by not doing what feels predictable or obvious, to do things that excite me, and give you the most honest representation of who I am through music."

Part of that break might include writing another song with Shawn Mendes. Backstage of another Jingle Ball show in December, the two were spotted sitting on the ground of Boston's TD Garden dressing room with a guitar in tow. After Cabello shared the image on social media, Camilizers and the Mendes Army went nuts for the likelihood of another collab between the pair to follow-up 2015's "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
