Animal Group Mourns The Loss Of Feral Cat Grandpa Mason

If you listen to my show you know how much I love cats. Always have.

Like me, you may have seen the story of Grandpa Mason.

He was a feral cat who was rescued in 2016 from a rural property that was set to be bulldozed. Trapped just over three years ago and taken to the TinyKittens shelter in Fort Langley, British Columbia, Mason was described as being “battle scarred”.

Watching the video below you can see he really was a mess.

When examined vets discovered a badly hurt foot, severe dental issues and Mason was diagnosed with advanced kidney disease. As the fearful feral cat began to get comfortable in his new home he began to “adopt” foster kittens that would come into the shelter.

Over the course of just over three years Mason would dedicate himself to many, many kittens, cuddling, grooming and playing with his ever-growing clan. Sadly, Grandpa Mason began to lose his battle with kidney disease and slept his last night in his bed comforting a new set of foster kittens.

We could learn a lot from Grandpa Mason. I have.
