Meathead Movers, the student athlete moving company committed to a superior employee and client-centric moving experience, is joining forces with another leading Orange County domestic violence prevention nonprofit Human Options, to move victims of domestic violence out of abusive situations for free. This most recent partnership furthers Meathead Movers’ own #MoveToEndDV pledge to help victims of domestic violence. Meathead Movers and Human Options are jointly dedicated to the safety of the victims and are poised to immediately take action for victims and their families in need.
“We know how hard it is to pack up someone’s life and move it to a new location, but it’s unimaginable to think about an individual with his or her children trying to pack up all their belongings and flee before the abuser returns home,” said Aaron Steed, president and CEO of Meathead Movers. “When we recognized we had the resources to help provide a fresh start for these victims, we knew Human Options was a perfect organization to connect us with those who need our services most.”
Each month, Meathead Movers will donate moving services at no cost to Human Options for victims in need of moving assistance. This includes moving out of an abusive home to the shelter, moving from the shelter to transitional housing, and moving from transitional housing to a new home. Since starting more than 30 years ago, Human Options has grown to a multi-service, countywide program breaking the cycle of domestic violence at every stage through safety, healing, and helping victims find a way forward.
