Many Millennials Aren't Getting the Flu Shot Due to Anti-Vax Movement

Millennials are taking a stand for another cause, however this time at the gamble of their health. A new study questioning 1000 participants has come out and determined that the millennial age group is the least likely to get a flu shot. Millennials are classified as anyone born between 1981 and 1996 (ages 24 to 39 as of 2020).

55 percent of people in their 20s and 30s that were surveyed did not get a flu shot for this season. The survey, conducted by the American Academy of Family Physicians showed that the reason why they opted out of the vaccination because they simply forgot or they didn't have time.

When asked if their beliefs aligned with those of the anti-vax movement, 61% of millennials did state that they believed in, or at least some part of the movement.

This season, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has reported nearly 10 million cases of the flu, and 4,800 deaths, with two-third of the deaths being children.
