16-Year-Old Pilot Flying Supplies To Rural Hospitals!

I literally cannot believe how amazing this kid is.

TJ Kim is a 16-year-old sophomore from Bethesda, Maryland...who ALSO happens to be a pilot. Since school is shut down and the lacrosse season is cancelled, the only thing he's had access to is flying. He wanted to find a way to give back during this time...so last month, he made his first flight to a rural hospital in Lurray, Virginia, to deliver medical supplies.

"They kind of conveyed to me that they were really forgotten about. Everyone was wanting to send donations to big city hospitals. Every hospital is hurting for supplies, but it's the rural hospitals that really feel forgotten," he said.

He recently delivered 3,000 gloves, 1,000 head covers, 500 shoe covers, 50 non-surgical masks and 20 pairs of protective eyewear, and has dubbed his mission "Operation SOS: Supplies Over Skies." His goal is to deliver supplies to all seven rural hospitals in Virginia. Read more about TJ's incredible story here. His parents (and flight instructor) must be so proud!
