With news that many retail stores will be closed this year for Thanksgiving due to COVID-19 and to avoid large crowds, Best Buy also announced they will not be open this year on the holiday.
Walmart, Target, Dick's Sporting Goods and now Best Buy announced they will be closed this year on Thanksgiving. In a statement, they said:
"To meet our customers’ changing lives this holiday, we’re enhancing the way we fulfill orders, from offering more convenient pick-up options at our stores, to making sure BestBuy.com orders arrive at the right time."
Neil Saunders who is the managing director of retail stated that "No retailer can run the risk of overcrowding and so all will be looking to balance the need to drive sales with the need to keep people safe."
