Los Angeles Animal Services is looking for adopters and foster families as all of the city's six shelters have reached capacity, reports KTLA. Some of the shelters are so packed that dogs are having to share kennels. To help encourage residents to adopt, fees are being reduced at all of the city's locations in hopes that they will help clear the shelters.

These discounts will be offered on various weekends starting April 30 through May 8. According to their website, their centers are open without appointments on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. On Tuesday through Friday, the shelters are operated by appointment from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. You can schedule an appointment online here or by calling 888-452-7381.

Many animal shelters around the country have had to waive fees or offer discounts over the past few years in an attempt to find families for pets who were adopted during the COVID-19 pandemic shelter-in-place in 2020 and then returned once lockdowns and restrictions loosened.
