After the August wildfire in Maui heavily damaged a 150-year-old Banyan tree, it is now showing signs of growth and has started to sprout new leaves.
This is a significant sign of hope amid the continued efforts to restore the damages on the historic town of Lahaina.
The 60-foot tall Indian banyan tree has become a beloved landmark in Lahaina.
According to the Lahaina Restoration Foundation, the tree covers one quarter of a mile and shades nearly two-thirds of an acre.
