Cute Husky Stuck In Storm Drain Rescued And Reunited With Family

A curious husky in Kentucky got himself in a little bit of a situation over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Animal Care & Control of Lexington-Fayette got several calls about a husky that was stuck inside a sewer drain that morning.

A video footage was shared showing a couple of their team members who stepped in to rescue the pooch.

In the clip, the dog is shown with two women who is only able to peek its head partially out of the storm drain.

One of the ladies was trying to comfort the canine as her co-worker who is filming looks for a way to get him out. Both women show patience as they extend their hands for him to sniff and gain their trust.

“Are you a good, baby?” the second woman asked in an upbeat tone as he sniffs her hand.
“The husky, named Sebastian, had always wanted to meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but instead, found himself face to face with a couple of Animal Control Officers!” the organization continued in their Facebook post.

The video then cuts to Sebastian out of the sewer, being happily comforted inside the facility as he wagged his tail.

“The spunky Sebastian is now safe and sound at our facility and is eagerly waiting to be reunited with his owners! We love happy endings!” the post added.
Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control later shared a photo in the comment section of the owner kneeling beside his fur baby. “Sebastian and his dad have been reunited!” they wrote.

The sweet rescue clip has been viewed 42,000 times.

Lt. Jai Hamilton, who was one of the Animal Care and Control officers to rescue Sebastian on Allen Drive, told the Lexington Herald-Leader the dog was being “very vocal. He obviously needed and wanted help.”

The officer says that it was “a pretty easy save” once they were able to use a crowbar to pry the lid off of the sewer.

“He was super happy, and made a lot of noise,” Hamilton said. “He is just absolutely adorable.”

No one is sure how Sebastian managed to get caught in the slim sewer opening, but everyone is happy that the dog is now safe.

“This was a really fun call for us because our job can be very sad,” Hamilton told the Herald-Leader. “We love helping animals and we are always out and about in the community, and any time we can help an animal, we do everything we can.”
