President Trump will make a stop at the US-Mexico border while visiting California today to promote prototypes of his long promised wall aimed at curbing illegal immigration.
The eight, 30-foot high slabs of steel and concrete prototypes are on display by private contractors looking to win what could be an $18 billion contract to build the entire wall. Protests by both opponents, who say the project is wasteful, as well as supporters will be taking place.Near the prototypes is an existing 14-mile long, razor wire topped fence on the border.
Is there a way to keep the US safe while not spending upwards of $18 billion? Is a wall necessary when a fence exists already?
