LAX Is Adding 4,700 Parking Spaces To Ease The Traffic Congestion

If you travel often, you probably are aware of all the traffic LAX has.

Usually no matter what time of day, you end up stuck in some type of traffic at the terminal.

Most people traveling in and out of the LAX airport dread it because it just takes forever to get in and out.

It was just announced that a new parking structure at LAX will be built.

It's aimed to ease congestion in hopes to revamp one of the world's largest airports.

According to mayor Eric Garcetti, he stated "We're now in the midst of a $14 billion transformation, re-imagining every terminal that we have, building new ones and keeping up with demand that has made this airport the No. 1 origin and destination airport in the country, the 4th busiest airport in the world."

The new parking structure will have 4,700 parking spots.

Travelers will be able to park and ride the terminals without having to enter the LAX terminal loop which as you know, is always bumper to bumper traffic.

Once the parking garage is built, it will connect with the airports planned Automated People Mover, which is a new key part to the new modernization program that will help travelers and employees.

It will be a new electric train that is scheduled to open in 2023.

As of right now, the new parking structure is set to open in 2021.

Do you think this will help control traffic at LAX?
