The Staples Center is home to three professional basketball teams, the Lakers, the Clippers and the Sparks. It's also home to a professional hockey team, the LA Kings. The capacity for the arena is 21,000, which is larger than Madison Square Garden and The Forum. When there isn't a game happening, it's usually filled with musical acts & other entertainment events. The record was broken back in 2015, when Taylor Swift was honored with a huge banner inside the Staples Center for selling out sixteen sold out shows. It hangs with all of the other legendary Lakers banners.
It's no surprise the sports world is as superstitious as it gets! But this story is nodding heads, especially by "Swifties" because now hockey fans want her banner gone! The fans have complained and believe it's given the team bad luck since the Kings have not gone to the playoffs since that banner went up! The Kings obliged and from now one, they will be covering up Taylor's banner during their home games at Staples Center. The Lakers and the Sparks don't plan on covering the banner. The Clippers on the other hand, have already been doing it when they playing in the building.
